CAMBODIA

 

1. ASSISTANCE FOR INTERNALLY DISPLACED PEOPLE -- FRESH NEWS 

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet assured that the government will protect internally displaced people affected by the border conflict with Thailand. He said the government will mobilise the national budget and development partners' assistance to restore damaged infrastructure. 

 

2. TRADE, CONNECTIVITY VITAL FOR ASEAN -- FRESH NEWS

At the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Retreat in the Philippines, Cambodia suggested key priorities for the region to navigate geopolitical tensions. It called for strengthening trade and investment, deepening regional connectivity and empowering small enterprises.

1. INDONESIA SECURES CHINA APPROVAL FOR 40 NEW FISH EXPORT FACILITIES -- ANTARA

The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) announced that 40 additional Fish Processing Units (UPI) have obtained export approval numbers for fishery products to China from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC).

 

2. INDONESIA'S OJK RESHUFFLES LEADERSHIP AFTER BOARD RESIGNATIONS -- ANTARA

Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) has appointed Friderica Widyasari Dewi and Hasan Fawzi as interim members of its Board of Commissioners to ensure leadership continuity following the resignation of several senior officials.

 

MYANMAR 

 

1. SIXTY CONTAINER VESSELS SLATED FOR ARRIVAL -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The Myanma Port Authority announced that 60 container ships are scheduled to arrive at Yangon Port this month, which will facilitate imports and exports. A total of 63 vessels called at the port in January.

 

2. EXPO TO PROMOTE ENERGY SECTOR -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

Myanmar Electrical Power and Green Energy Expo 2026 will be held at the Yangon Convention Centre from March 6 to 8. A range of electric vehicles and equipment will be exhibited at the fourth edition of the exhibition.

1. MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINS LIKELY IN PARTS OF PH DUE TO SHEAR LINE -- PHILIPPINE NEWS AGENCY

Moderate to heavy rains are expected in some parts of the country due to the shear line, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.

Water activities, including swimming and kayaking, have been halted at Sentosa's Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong Beach until further notice after a crocodile was spotted in the waters off Sentosa Cove on Saturday (Jan 31) evening.

The Election Commission (EC) has stepped up monitoring in 42 provinces where electoral competition is considered intense.

1. MOVING TOWARDS GREEN FINANCING -- VIETNAMPLUS

The Asian Development Bank and the State Bank of Vietnam jointly launched a US$2 million initiative on green banking capacity to help scale up green and climate finance in the country.

The government will consider state-funded, private, and public-private partnership investment models for the North-South railway project. The high-speed railway is vital to achieving robust growth.
