BEIJING, Jan 19 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- China's economy grew by 5 per cent year-on-year to 140.187 trillion yuan (US$20.01 trillion) in 2025, according to data released Monday by the country's National Statistics Bureau.
"Preliminary estimates show that China's GDP for the year reached 140.187 trillion yuan [US$20.01 trillion], which is 5 per cent more than the previous year," the agency said in a statement, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
On a quarterly basis, GDP grew by 5.4 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter, 5.2 per cent in the second quarter, 4.8 per cent in the third quarter, and 4.5 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2025.
According to the official forecast of the Chinese government, China's GDP growth was expected to be around 5 per cent in 2025.
