HAMBURG (Germany), Jan 17 (Bernama-dpa) -- One person was killed and several others injured when a locomotive collided with a bus in the German northern city of Hamburg, German Press Agency (dpa) reported Friday, citing the fire brigade.
The bus driver is in critical condition while two passengers sustained severe injuries, a spokesman said. Another six people on the bus were also injured.
The crash took place at an unsecured railway crossing in Hamburg's Wilhelsburg district near the city's port on Friday afternoon, police said.
Some 40 members of rescue forces were deployed to the scene of the accident and the area was temporarily closed off.
The cause of the crash initially remained unclear.
Images of the incident show severe damage to the bus's front and side. Emergency forces retrieved the passengers through the vehicles' burst front window.
