16/06/2025 06:07 PM

TEHRAN, June 16 (Bernama-IRNA) -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called on the people of Iran to unite and stand firm in the face of foreign aggression, reiterating the country’s commitment to peace and resistance.

“We are not the aggressors. Today, more than ever, we need unity and solidarity. All the people of Iran must join hands and stand firm against aggression,” he told a parliamentary session on Monday, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported.

Pezeshkian reaffirmed that Iran has no intention of acquiring nuclear weapons, despite accusations from its adversaries.

“Our pursuit of peaceful nuclear energy and scientific research is a legitimate right that cannot be denied. No authority has the legal basis to strip Iran of this right.

“Iran has never sought war nor initiated any conflict. We do not pursue power or domination, but rather brotherhood and solidarity with all Islamic nations,” Pezeshkian said.

In a separate message, Pezeshkian said, “We have never been -- and will never be -- the aggressors. But we stand firm, hand in hand, against this savage criminal.”

He also assured the public that the government is doing everything possible to maintain stability and protect citizens’ daily lives amid the ongoing crisis.
