Uzbekistan To Host UN Public Service Forum 2025 In Samarkand

KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 (Bernama) -- Uzbekistan will host the United Nations Public Service Forum (UNPSF 2025) from June 23 to 25 in the historic city of Samarkand.

Uzbekistan Embassy in Kuala Lumpur in a statement on Monday said the central theme of this prestigious international event is “Five Years to 2030: Accelerating the Delivery of Public Services for a Sustainable Future.”

The forum is jointly organised by the Government of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA).

“Hosting the forum offers Uzbekistan a unique opportunity to showcase and evaluate its public service reforms on a global stage,” the statement read.

According to the statement, the UNPSF 2025 is a major international platform that brings together countries, international organisations, and civil society to promote effective public service delivery, foster innovation, and advance Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Meanwhile in a separate statement, the embassy said the selection of Samarkand as host for the forum indicates the international community’s confidence in the progress Uzbekistan has made in the field of public service reform.

Initiatives in digitalisation, transparency, and professionalism are contributing to an overall improvement in the quality of civil service delivery in the country.

"Beyond its primary mission, the forum will also serve as a platform to present Uzbekistan’s achievements and ongoing efforts in public administration, e-government, and digital transformation to the international community - an important milestone for the sovereign nation under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev,” it said.
