KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 -- Indian musicians and singers have come together to spread unity and hope in their collective fight against COVID-19 with a motivational composition entitled “United We Fight”.
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), in a statement made available by the Press and Info Wing of the Indian High Commission in Malaysia to Bernama, said composers, musicians and singers from across India contributed recordings from their homes for the beautiful musical creation.
The piece is written and composed by Joe Alvares who also contributed his vocals. Other vocalists include Usha Uthup, Salim Merchant, Shefali Alvares Rashid, Benny Dayal, Sonam Kalra, Chandan Bala Kalyan, Joe Alvares, Salome and Samira, and music by Tubby, Pandit Ravi Chari, Pandit Rakesh Chaurasiya and Ustad Faisal Qureshi.
The song, which has been released by ICCR on May 12 on its digital platforms and website, carries with it the message of “hope, joy, resilience, fighting spirit and never say die attitude of all in our collective fight against COVID-19.”
With this composition that is dedicated to the world, the ICCR hopes to inspire people in one of several ways: light a candle, cheer for the frontline workers, donate for the needy, spare free time for the elderly, or be available to volunteer.
“This composition is an expression of our deep appreciation and gratitude to all brave COVID-19 warriors world over risking their lives to protect ours,” it said.
