KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 (Bernama) -- The national men’s sepak takraw squad have an easy path through the group stage of the 2025 South East Asian (SEA) Games regu event after being drawn in Group A with Laos and Vietnam today.
Meanwhile, hosts Thailand along with Indonesia and Singapore are in Group B. For the men’s regu team event, Malaysia is drawn in Group A with Myanmar, the Philippines and Singapore.
The women’s regu will have a tougher time as they will go against Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia in the round-robin while in the women’s team event, Malaysia is in Group B with Indonesia, Myanmar and Cambodia.
In the men’s quadrant event, Malaysia has been drawn in Group B with Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, Brunei and Vietnam, while in the women’s quadrant, Malaysia will have a tough challenge against Thailand, Myanmar and Indonesia.
Malaysia won four silver and four bronze in total in sepak takraw in the last edition of the SEA Games.
