Mohamad Aniq, Nur Ain Nabilah crowned 2022 UiTM Sportsman, Sportswoman

SHAH ALAM, March 18 (Bernama) -- National weightlifter Mohamad Aniq Kasdan and national lawn bowler Nur Ain Nabilah Tarmizi have been crowned the 2022 Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sportsman and Sportswoman respectively.

They each took home a certificate, a trophy, a challenge trophy and RM1,000 cash presented by Ministry of Higher Education secretary-general Datuk Seri Abdul Razak Jaafar at the UiTM Sports Awards ceremony.

Mohamad Aniq, 21, shone on the international stage when he won gold in weightlifting at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham last July.

Nur Ain Nabilah, 25, was a member of the national team that won the women’s lawn bowls trios silver medal at the same multi-sport Games. The other two players in the team were Syafiqa Haidar Afif Abdul Rahman and Azlina Arshad.

Meanwhile, in his speech, Abdul Razak said the involvement of UiTM athletes and teams at the national and international levels had consistently shown that the university was serious about promoting sports.

The 2022 UiTM sports awards ceremony recognises athletes and sports officials who excel in their respective fields.

Among the 15 sports awards given out included the Hall of Fame, University Golden Award, University Special Award, UiTM Sports Personality and Sports Alumni.
