JOHOR BAHRU, Sept 13 -- The Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) Football Club have donated the RM1 million prize money for winning the 2021 Super League title to the frontliners and their families.
The Johor Southern Tigers said in a post on their official Facebook page that this was in line with the decree by Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim as a sign of the club’s appreciation for their sacrifices.
“This is in line with the decree by Tunku Ismail as a sign of gratitude for their services and sacrifices in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring a better future. Thank you once again,” said JDT.
Yesterday, JDT celebrated winning the Super League for the eighth consecutive time by letting off fireworks and the display of a colourful laser show at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.
Fans also had the opportunity to join in the celebration via the In-Car Viewing Party, with 1,600 vehicles filling the open car park at the stadium.
The team also brought the trophy to the In-Car Viewing Party area on board an open-top bus at 11.30 pm yesterday.
