SHAH ALAM, Feb 22 --Terengganu FC II (TFC II) import striker Jordan Mintah once again became saviour for the Turtles when he scored two goals to tie Sri Pahang FC with a 2-2 draw in the second match of the Shah Alam City Cup tournament last night.
In the match that took place at the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) FC Stadium, the Tok Gajah team was seen to dominate the game when they managed to beat Sang Penyu through a goal by Mohd Faizal Abdul Rani in the 28th minute, thus placing the team ahead with 1 -0 in the first half.
However, the Turtles bounced back in the second half when Mintah scored the team's equaliser in the 60th minute before Sri Pahang FC import striker Pedro Henrique scored the second goal in the 70th minute.
Refusing to bow to defeat, the TFC II players worked hard and the effort paid off when Mintah managed to equalise the goal with a penalty kick, beating Pahang goalkeeper Mohd Zarif Irfan Hishamudin, 10 minutes before the final whistle by referee S Logeswaran.
In the kick-off match of the Shah Alam City Cup tournament last Friday, Mintah emerged as the sole scorer of the black and white team when they played against the UiTM FC team, which ended with a 1-1 draw.
The Tok Gajah team is scheduled to play in the second match tomorrow against host team, The Lions Troops.
The tournament is a warm-up for the three teams before the Malaysia League 2021 starts on March 5.
