KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 21 -- A day after Mohd Harrif Saleh’s win at the Grand Prix Velo Manavgat, Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) showcased another dominating performance to secure the Grand Prix Velo Alanya in Turkey, today.
TSG’s Carlos Quintero from Columbia topped the 106 km race finishing at the hill-top town of Gundogmus, clocking two hours, 40 minutes and 33 seconds, while teammate Metkel Eyob from Eritrea finished third, a minute behind in the UCI European Tour 1.2 race.
“I am very happy with the win, my first win with TSG and for me this year,” Quintero said through a video call with TSG.
United States’ Alex Hoehn representing Wildlife Generation Pro Cycling was second, clocking similar time with Carlos.
Another TSG rider and 2018 Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) winner Artem Ovechkin of Russia finished 11 minutes behind in the 12th place.
Yesterday, sprinter Mohd Harrif won the 147.5km Grand Prix Velo Manavgat, another one day race, clocking 3:13:35s.
