KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 13  -- A total of 17 posts will be contested in the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Executive Committee election for the 2021-2025 term, which will be held at a hotel in Petaling Jaya on March 13.

The election at the 57th FAM Congress involves the posts of president (one), deputy president (two), vice-president (four) and 10 Exco seats (including two reserved for women).

FAM Election Committee chairman Prof Datuk Dr Abdullah Mohamad Said said nomination forms for the election had been distributed to all 20 affiliates of the national body.

He also said the FAM Executive Committee for the 2017-2021 term held its last meeting at Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya yesterday, and approved the FAM Election Code for conducting the polls for the new term.

"The nomination forms which were issued need to be filled with the full names of candidates for the post of president, deputy president, vice-president and Exco by each of the 20 FAM affiliates and returned by 5.30 pm on Thursday, Feb 11, 2021," he said in a statement today.

According to Article 27 (4) of the FAM Statute, candidates vying for the post of president need at least six nominations from affiliates, deputy president (five nominations), vice-president (four) and Exco (two).
