KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20  -- The financial aid of RM52,000 given by the Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) to Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin, was personal assistance for the racer to cover the costs of his flight and stay to participate in the World Moto2 Championship this season.

The Malaysian Motorsports Association (MAM) said in a statement that the organisation had never involved itself in any matters regarding the 20-year-old rider and his OneXOX TKKR SAG Team that was competing in the World Moto2 Championship.

MAM said they received an approval letter regarding the aid, that it was not sponsorship, and Kasma Daniel and his father were informed of it.

“According to the approval letter from KBS, MAM needed only inform Kasma Daniel as the aid recipient, and MAM was not obligated to inform any third party as the letter was not revealed to anyone else,” MAM explained.

MAM also revealed that Kasma Daniel and his father made an official request to KBS for financial assistance to cover the costs of the flight and stay to participate in the Moto2 Championship early this year.

The OneXOX TKKR SAG Team revealed that it was not informed of the aid sponsorship in a Facebook post yesterday.
