KUALA LUMPUR, June 25 – The Kuala Lumpur Hockey Association (KLHA) has reached an agreement with the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to continue managing the Kuala Lumpur Hockey Stadium in Jalan Pantai Baharu here.
Its president Datuk Seri Megat D Shahriman Zaharudin said the two sides had reached an agreement at a meeting this morning besides discussing other related issues.
“We are currently in the final process of documenting all of these agreements, which will subsequently see more activities and programmes being carried out between the two parties.
"We are very optimistic that working with the DBKL is very important and will indirectly benefit the hockey community in Kuala Lumpur as well as maintain the stadium as the 'official home' of the KLHA," he said in a statement.
The meeting was attended by members of the Stadium Committee comprising the vice-president of KLHA, Muhamad Fariz Mustafa and Sukhjit Singh as representative of KLHA affiliate members.
When contacted by Bernama, Megat said details of the contract are expected to be released soon by DBKL and the agreement reached today was another exciting development for hockey that could benefit both sides.
