KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 -- The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) has submitted six initiatives, including supporting the welfare of current and past athletes, under its preliminary proposal for inclusion in the Economic Stimulus Package 2.0.
Its Minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said in a statement today that the other initiatives were national sports and sports industry development, issues on youth housing and sustainability, strengthening youth economy, supporting youth groups in the public services sector and immediate financial assistance.
“Today, my deputy (Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal) and I met Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, who is responsible for economic matters.
“It was for us to submit our proposals pertaining to national youth and sports and for them to be considered and included in the Economic Stimulus Package 2.0 which will be announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin,” he said.
These proposals, he said, were in addition to the seven other initiatives the ministry announced last week.
“More importantly, I assure you, no one is left behind as we seek to make youth and sports development a success,” he said.
