KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- CelcomDigi Bhd has recorded a higher net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2025 (2Q 2025) to RM438.94 million from RM406.02 million posted in the same quarter a year ago.

This was supported by disciplined capital and operating expenditure management as well as the realisation of merger benefits, it said in filings with Bursa Malaysia.

Revenue also went up to RM3.18 billion in the quarter under review against RM3.11 billion previously.

For the six-month period ended June 30, 2025 (1H 2025), net profit rose to RM822.71 million versus RM782.48 million in 2H 2024.

Revenue improved to RM6.39 billion compared with RM6.28 billion in the same period last year.

“Integration and transformation initiatives are progressing as planned across the network, information technology, and retail operations, delivering expected synergies, and improving customer experience and operational excellence across the organisation,” it said.

As of end-June 2025, CelcomDigi’s network integration and modernisation reached 84 per cent completion, enabling customers to enjoy enhanced service quality on the new, significantly upgraded CelcomDigi intelligent network.

The company also closed the quarter with additional 151,000 subscribers year-on-year (+0.7 per cent), bringing its total subscribers to 20.4 million.

“Average monthly data usage rose to 38 gigabytes per user, reflecting the growing demand for high-speed, reliable internet that the company continues to deliver with Malaysia’s widest 4G/5G coverage,” it said.

Looking ahead, CelcomDigi said it would continue to strengthen its market position by capitalising on growing momentum in postpaid and home and fibre segments, while driving digital value-added services across its 20.4 million subscriber base.

“CelcomDigi plans to continue to invest in the 2H 2025 to modernise its network in delivering better value to its customers,” it added.

The company declared a second interim dividend of 3.8 sen per share, in line with its sustainable dividend commitment to shareholders.
