SHAH ALAM, July 16 (Bernama) -- Police have confirmed that four individuals performed a nude and lewd scene during an event called ‘Queens Night’ held last year as part of a family motivational programme at a convention centre here.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the programme, titled ‘Finding Happiness Again,’ was organised by the motivational company E-Hati, which offered two packages with different prices and activities.
Package A was priced at RM6,000, while Package B, costing RM9,000, included the ‘Queens Night’ event where the incident took place. During this event, four participants performed a scene known as ‘rebirth’ intended to boost motivation.
“Package B was exclusive to about 50 female participants from diverse professional and ethnic backgrounds,” Hussein said at a press conference today.
Hussein added that statements have been recorded from 30 organisers, facilitators and participants to assist with the investigation.
“We have identified 50 participants and urge others to come forward to help. Failure to do so may result in arrests,” he warned.
Police also seized equipment used during the event and liquids served to participants. Tests by the Chemistry Department are pending to determine if drugs or other illicit substances were involved.
The case is being investigated under Section 294 of the Penal Code for obscene acts in public, Section 509 for insulting modesty and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
Hussein clarified the programme was not Islamic-themed, involving participants of various faiths.
“We believe this programme was held periodically and included individuals of different religions and races,” he said, adding no video or photographic evidence has yet been found.
Earlier, the Magistrate’s Court here ordered a three-day remand for six suspects, four women and two men aged between 26 and 47, including a husband-and-wife duo who founded e-Hati.
Yesterday, Shah Alam police chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim confirmed the arrest of the founding couple after they gave statements at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters (IPD).
