KUANTAN, June 3 (Bernama) -- Pahang will host the 8th Meeting of the Advisory Council of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) on Dangerous Drugs (AIPACODD), which will take place from June 9 to 12 in conjunction with Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship this year.
With the theme "Uniting Parliaments for an Inclusive and Sustainable ASEAN in Addressing Contemporary Drug Challenges", the meeting highlights ASEAN countries’ collective and inclusive commitment to tackling current challenges related to dangerous drugs.
“May this effort strengthen inter-parliamentary diplomacy and contribute to a healthier, safer and more prosperous future for ASEAN,” according to a Facebook post by the Pahang State Secretary’s Office.
Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman was reported today as saying that police will enhance security measures to ensure the smooth running of the AIPACODD meeting.
The AIPACODD meeting is scheduled to take place in Kuantan, and delegates will also be taken on a cultural visit to Pekan.
