EXCITING ACTIVITIES AWAIT VISITORS AT HAWANA MINI CARNIVAL

IPOH, May 25 (Bernama) -- A variety of exciting activities await visitors to the Hawana Mini Carnival on May 27-28 at Concourse 2, Mydin Mall Meru, in conjunction with the celebration of the National Journalists' Day (HAWANA) 2023.

Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) head of broadcasting D. Arul Rajoo said the carnival, to be held from 10 am to 6 pm, will be enlivened with activities like interactive slots with BERNAMA personalities, Pocket Talk and Sayadigital as well as meet and greet sessions with local artists and celebrities.

“Also included is a 30-minute programme with various agencies such as the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), CyberSecurity Malaysia, Sarawak Media Associations (Media Sarawak), Information Department (JAPEN), Tourism Perak, Tourism Selama and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC),” he said.

According to Arul Rajoo, who is also the HAWANA 2023 project director, the carnival will also be participated by The Vibes Dotcom & Getaran.my, the Darul Ridzuan Institute (Perak Sejahtera 2030), the Malaysian National Film Development Corporation (FINAS) and the Personal Data Protection Department (JPDP).

He said the public can also take part in painting competitions and lucky draws, with attractive prizes up for grabs. 

There will also be a sale of exclusive HAWANA souvenirs only available at this carnival and a raffle offering exciting prizes.

The HAWANA 2023 celebration will be held in Ipoh, Perak, from May 27-29 with the theme ‘Free Media, Pillar of Democracy’ to re-emphasise the issue of media freedom for journalists in carrying out their duties.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to grace the highlight of the celebration on May 28.
