SHAH ALAM, Sept 14 -- Muafakat Nasional (MN) Selangor has pledged to continue defending the “Malaysian Family” government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob
Selangor UMNO chief Tan Sri Noh Omar and Selangor PAS commissioner Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi, in a joint statement today, said MN would stick to its main agenda of uniting the ummah in an effort to capture the state from Pakatan Harapan in the next general election.
“In the two years since its formation, MN Selangor has made progress in strengthening its agenda of promoting unity among the ummah and established political cooperation between the two parties at various levels until the grassroots,” the statement said.
It said MN Selangor was consistent in strengthening its agenda on Islam, Malays and Bumiputera to fulfil its struggle as enshrined in the MN Charter.
MN Selangor also accepts the reality that the various religions, races and cultures in the state needed to be involved in such efforts for the sake of political stability, racial harmony and the country’s well-being, it added.
The statement was issued in conjunction with the second anniversary of the formation of MN, which comprises UMNO and PAS, and the signing of the Muafakat Nasional Charter between the two parties.
