KUALA PERLIS, Jan 13 -- Ferryline Ventures Sdn Bhd (Ferryline) has halted its passenger ferry service from Kuala Perlis Terminal to Langkawi Island in Kedah during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) which covered the island from today.
The company’s Human Resource and Operations manager, Captain Baharin Baharom said however the Roll On- Roll Off (RoRo) ferry service to Langkawi is still in operation as usual.
“The passenger ferry service will resume when the CMCO is lifted,” he told Bernama today.
Meanwhile, an observation by Bernama found the Kuala Perlis Ferry Terminal was deserted.
CMCO was implemented in six states, namely Kedah, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu and Kelantan starting today until Jan 26.
During the same period, Movement Control Order (MCO) is enforced in Penang, Selangor, Federal Territories (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan), Melaka, Johor and Sabah, while Perlis and Sarawak would be under Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).
