IPOH, Sept 15 -- The Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah today attended the tea event and prize-giving ceremony in conjunction with the State-Level National Day Celebration 2020 held at the Casuarina Meru Convention Centre, here, today.
Also present were Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, Raja Puan Besar Perak Raja Nazhatul Shima Sultan Idris Shah, Raja Dihilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris and Raja Puan Muda Perak Tunku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim.
Others who were present included Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and wife Datin Seri Dr Nomee Ashikin Mohamed Radzi as well as the state executive councillors.
Sultan Nazrin presented donations to 12 recipients from the Malaysian Armed Forces, Royal Malaysia Police and Perak Fire and Rescue Department who suffered injuries while carrying out their duties to preserve the country’s peace.
The sultan also presented prizes to the winners of the contests held in conjunction with the state-level National Month celebration, as well as plaques to the state’s frontline personnel in appreciation of their hard work in fighting against the COVID-19 outbreak.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Faizal in his speech said the ceremony was held in compliance with the standard operating procedure set to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
He also expressed his appreciation to all departments and agencies at the state, federal and district levels, non-governmental organisations and the local community involved in spreading patriotic values throughout this year’s National Month celebration.
