PASIR MAS, July 29 -- The widow of the late Mohamad Rizalman Mohamad Nawawi, 42, who died in a tractor mishap last Sunday, was overwhelmed by the swift action of the Kelantan Social Security Organisation Prihatin Squad (Socso Concern Squad) in resolving her husband's death claims.

Miminorazien Suhaila Mohamad, 44 said she did not expect such a swift and efficient action by Socso which only took four days to settle the payment of benefits to her family.

“Alhamdulillah, (praise be to Allah) this can ease my burden as I still have three children, aged three to 14 years old, under my care and indeed I need money to continue living after my husband’s demise.

"The benefits paid can help us continue our lives to a certain extent especially in welcoming Hari Raya Aidiladha on Friday," she said when met at her house in Kampung Cherang Tok Rong, Tendong here today.

Earlier, Miminorazien received a dependent benefit mock cheque worth RM900 per month and a funeral benefit of RM2,000 which were presented by Tendong assemblyman Rozi Muhamad at her house.

He was accompanied by Kelantan Socso director Nora Yaacob and Kemubu Agricultural Development Authority (KADA) chairman Datuk Kamaruddin Md Nor.

Nora said Socso was able to act fast, thanks to media reports and good co-operation from the victim’s employer, KADA, which immediately reported and submitted information and documents on his next-of-kin to be processed by the agency.

“The information obtained found that the deceased was eligible to receive a funeral benefit of RM2,000 which has been paid to his widow.

"Besides that, a dependent benefit worth RM900 will be paid to his widow from the date of his death until their children reach the age of 21 or until they get a first degree if they study at institutions of higher learning," she said.

Prior to this, the media reported that Mohamad Rizalman was killed in the mishap in Kampung Sakar, Tendong on Sunday.
