LANGKAWI, Feb 14 – The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) My Best Buy (MBB) programme which has been held at seven Petronas Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2020 host locations so far has been greeted with enthusiasm from race spectators.

“We’ve had good response since LTdL 2020 started in Kota Kinabalu (Feb 6) and till today for its 8th stage,” said FAMA chairman, Ishak Ismail, when met at the MBB here.

Located in Kuah town and ending tomorrow, the MBB bazaar has food trucks and some 18 tents promoting direct-from-farm produce, agro-based products, KopieSatu and more.

“The spectators have not only come to watch renowned bicycle racers but also to grab the opportunity to buy products that are five to 20 per cent cheaper compared to other markets.

“Until yesterday and from seven locations, revenue collected is RM531,000,” he said.

Meanwhile, some 480 people from the B40 income group received a contribution of provisions under the Jom Kongsi Rezeki corporate social responsibility programme in collaboration with Yayasan Prihatin Insan which is being held together with MBB@LTdL.

“In Langkawi, today, we’ve passed a contribution to 60 people and tomorrow, 60 more will benefit from the programme,” Ishak said.
