SAO PAULO, May 5 -- At least four people were killed on Tuesday by a teenager at a daycare centre in Saudades in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, Xinhua news agency reported, quoting local authorities.
Saudades secretary of education Gisela Herman said that among the dead were three children and one teacher, stabbed with a knife by the 14-year-old, who was arrested.
Regional commissioner Ricardo Casagrande confirmed the murders, stating that the adolescent entered the facility with a knife.
The attack took place in the Aquarela daycare centre in Saudades, which is a small town of about 10,000 residents in western Santa Catarina.
