KUALA LUMPUR, April 19  -- A total of 220 craft entrepreneurs are taking part in the ‘Warna-Warni Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2021’ (WWA 2021) promotional programme hosted by Kraftangan Malaysia from April 15 to May 2 in preparation for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said of the total, 100 entrepreneurs are located at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex while another 120 at selected shopping malls in several states namely the East Coast Mall in Pahang, KTCC Mall (Terengganu), AEON Mall Kuching (Sarawak), AEON Mall Kinta City (Perak), AEON Mall Nilai @ Seremban 2 (Negeri Sembilan), MYDIN Mall Bertam (Penang), Freeport A’Famosa Outlet (Melaka) and One Utama Shopping Centre (Selangor).

Nancy said such promotional activities should be conducted actively and consistently to increase awareness among consumers that craft products are more universal in nature and not limited to certain groups or for certain uses only.

She called on craft entrepreneurs to remain resilient, enthusiastic and be competitive in producing and marketing their products through various methods and channels.

"Explore and use the digital platform provided by Kraftangan Malaysia such as E-Kraf Bazar and MYCRAFTSHOPPE so that craft entrepreneurs can benefit especially for the long term," she said at a press conference held in conjunction with WWA 2021 here today.

Kraftangan Malaysia has been hosting WWA since 2003 and this year’s theme 'Kraf Di Hati, Hari Raya Aidilfitri Dinanti' highlights the joy of the upcoming celebration through new creativity and ideas to usher in the festive season.

The activities include sales of craft products and Hari Raya Aidilfitri themed products, exhibitions, craft demonstrations, cooking and baking demonstrations as well as various other competitions, among others.

It opens from 10 am until 6 pm (Monday to Thursday) and 10 am to 10 pm (Friday to Sunday) at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex in Jalan Conlay.
