KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- Prospective Haj pilgrims who are due for the 1447H/2026M season are reminded to begin preparations early, particularly in updating personal information, health, finances, self-management, and knowledge related to individual obligatory duties and Haj rituals.
Tabung Haji (TH), group managing director and chief executive officer Mustakim Mohamad, said Haj, as the fifth pillar of Islam, requires thorough preparation to ensure the ability to perform it (Istito'ah).
“This proactive approach is in line with TH’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of service to Malaysian pilgrims. Pilgrims can check their Haj queue status via the THiJARI platform or any TH branch nationwide,” he said in a statement today.
He added that this friendly reminder from TH is hoped to help prospective pilgrims better prepare themselves to accept the Haj offer and perform the pilgrimage smoothly, aiming for a blessed Haj (Haji Mabrur), God willing.
In terms of health, he emphasised that pilgrims must pass the health examination and adequately prepare physically, as they will spend an extended period in Saudi Arabia, enduring dusty conditions and hot weather.
Early notification of their Haj queue status will also give pilgrims ample time to take preventive health measures, such as exercising to improve physical endurance and conducting self-health checks to manage any pre-existing conditions.
Mustakim also advised that pilgrims should save regularly to meet the increasing cost of Haj, which is expected to rise year by year.
"TH provides facilities for depositors to save regularly through salary deductions and direct debit from bank accounts via the THiJARI platform," he said.
Prospective pilgrims are advised to ensure that their savings in TH meet at least RM15,000, which is the required amount for the B40 group in 2025, to be eligible for the Haj offer in their designated year.
He further encouraged pilgrims to update their profile records so they can be easily contacted for official matters, and to follow TH’s social media channels and official website for the latest information. Additionally, pilgrims are urged to join the upcoming Haj guidance courses.
Meanwhile, Mustakim highlighted that as the country's Haj management institution, TH continues to bring international recognition to Malaysia, maintaining its consistent record as an innovative Haj management model. This has earned the prestigious Diamond Award at the 2025 Labaytum Awards.
Previously, TH won the Labaytum Award for two consecutive years, receiving awards in 2023 in the categories of Best Service for Haj Affairs Office and Best Haj Guidance Service and Programme. In 2024, TH won an award in the Best Service for Haj Affairs Office category.
