Machap Jaya Lestari Run On Track To Attract 1,000 Participants

ALOR GAJAH, Feb 19 (Bernama) -- The Machap Jaya Lestari Run 2025 is targeting to attract 1,000 entries for the event which will take place this Sunday over a distance of 5.6 kilometres.

Machap Jaya State Assemblyman Datuk Ngwe Hee Sem said so far the initial target of 800 participants had been successfully achieved and following the encouraging response, an additional 200 entries were opened to those interested in registering at the last minute.

"This event not only received participation from the people of Melaka but also from all over the country to enjoy the beauty of the natural scenery along the running route.

"More interestingly, the participants also have to go through hilly roads and need strong stamina to overcome the challenge," he said during a press conference at the Machap Jaya State Legislative Assembly Development and Coordination Committee Complex (JAPERUN) here today.

Commenting on the facilities that will be provided throughout the event, he said apart from the parking area in the Felda Hutan Percha area, the organisers will also provide shuttles and four-wheel drive vehicles to facilitate the movement of runners.

"Running participants are advised to come as early as 5.30 am and for Muslim participants, they can perform Fajr prayers at the Felda Hutan Percha Mosque before the run starts at 7.30 am.

"During the event, two routes, namely Jalan Tebong - Hutan Percha, will be completely closed from 6am to 10am while the main route of Jalan Besar Felda Hutan Percha to Tampin will only be partially closed during the same period," he said.
