KUALA LUMPUR, July 19 (Bernama) -- Malaysia have advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2025 Badminton Asia Junior Championships (BAJC) mixed team tournament after defeating Myanmar and Singapore in Group B matches in Solo, Indonesia, today.
At the Manahan Indoor Stadium, the national squad had no trouble overcoming Myanmar with a convincing 110-52 win during the morning session of the group stage.
The team continued their confident stride in the afternoon, beating Singapore 110-58, paving the way for Malaysia to contend for the Group B top spot.
This year's BAJC features a new format where each team plays 10 matches—two in each category comprising men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.
Each match is played up to 11 points, with the first team to reach a total of 110 points declared the winner.
Having recorded three wins so far, the national squad currently sit second in Group B and are scheduled to face group leaders Indonesia tomorrow.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals.
