SHAH ALAM, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- The Selangor government will continue the School Assistance Programme next year through an allocation of RM30 million provided in the Selangor State Budget 2026, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the allocation, which is the highest to date, can be utilised for the process of improving school infrastructure and helping to provide a conducive school and learning environment for students.

"This allocation involves six types of schools such as Sekolah Rendah Agama, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil, Sekolah Kebangsaan, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan, Chinese private secondary schools, and missionary schools.

"The state government hopes that this incentive will be able to increase the motivation of teachers and students to continue to achieve excellence in education," he said when tabling the Selangor Budget 2026 at Dewan Negeri Selangor, here today.

Amirudin said that a total of 873 schools had benefited from the assistance this year.

Meanwhile, Amirudin said that in response to the recent issue involving bullying incidents in schools, the state government had agreed to implement a programme with the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) in all schools in Selangor.

He said the programme would focus on efforts to eradicate bullying and crime in schools.

In addition, he said the state government had also agreed to continue providing subsidised KAFA Integrasi fee of RM30 per month to each B40 student with an average household income of RM3,000 and below.

Amirudin hopes that the assistance can ease the financial burden of parents and guardians while children can continue to enjoy Islamic religious education without any constraints.

"For this purpose, the state government has allocated a total of RM5 million specifically to cover KAFA fee subsidy assistance," he said.
