24/11/2021 09:17 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 -- The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed untraded on Wednesday amid weaker demand domestically despite a positive US COMEX gold performance.

Phillip Futures Sdn Bhd dealer Stephen Lou said COMEX Gold steadied ahead of minutes of the Federal Reserve's November policy meeting and key economic data.

"Gold price is expected to move higher on fears of new restrictions as COVID-19 cases resurface," Lou said.

At the close, spot month November 2021, December 2021, January 2022, and February 2022 all stood at RM255.0 a gramme.

Volume and open interest remained nil.

At 5 pm, the price of physical gold was down 42 sen to RM234.58 a gramme from RM235.19 a gramme on Tuesday.
