MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER
26/03/2020 08:22 PM

KUCHING, March 26 -- All factories in Sarawak which have been allowed to continue operations during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period are required to submit lists of their workers to the State Management Disaster Committee, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

Awang Tengah who is also State International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminals and Entrepreneurship Minister said the lists would help the committee monitor the factories, as well to identify their employees.

“We want to know who they (the workers) are, where they are from and where do they live,” he told reporters after a monitoring visit to the LONGi factory at the Sama Jaya Free Industrial Zone here today.

He said all factories in Sarawak were allowed to continue their operations but with minimum workforce and to comply with the terms and conditions already imposed to them under the MCO.

“The police and armed forces personnel will be around to monitor their operations,” he said, adding that there are currently 15 factories at Sama Jaya Industrial Zone which continued their operation during the MCO.
