COVID: New infections in Sarawak decline to 144 cases

KUCHING, Nov 26 -- The number of new COVID-19 infections in Sarawak continued to show a downward trend with 144 cases reported today.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (JPBN), in a statement today, said the Kuching district recorded 59 new cases followed by Miri (18), Bintulu (13), Sibu (10), while another 17 districts recorded between one and nine new cases.

Of the total new cases, five cases have lung infections and require respiratory assistance while the remaining 139 cases were those with mild and no symptoms.

Three fatalities were recorded, namely on Nov 16, 18 and 23, involving those aged between 49 and 75 with a history of high blood pressure, asthma and diabetes while one case with unknown medical history.

JPBN also said that the number of active COVID-19 clusters in the state remained at four after no new clusters were reported today.
