COVID-19: Two foreign cabin crew among three new cases in Thailand

BANGKOK, Sept 26  -- Thailand has reported three new COVID-19 cases, including two foreign cabin crew, and zero fatalities over the last 24 hours bringing the tally to 3,522 cases and 59 fatalities.

In a statement, Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said the two cabin crew were a 49-year-old German man who arrived in Thailand on Sept 20, and a 51-year-old Turkish man who arrived on Sept 21.

It said the duo entered alternative state quarantine (ASQ) upon arrival and left the kingdom on Sept 24. 

“The COVID-19 test result came back positive on Sept 24 when both of them left Thailand,” it said. 

Meanwhile, a 51-year-old Albanian teacher undergoing compulsory quarantine at ASQ in Bangkok was tested positive for COVID-19.

CCSA said a total of 109,652 people – Thai and foreigners had entered the kingdom since April 3 to Sept 25.

“Out of the number, a total of 584 people tested positive,” it said.
