GEORGE TOWN, Aug 14 -- The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT2020) and TechFest2020 will be broadcast live on Nov 18 to 20, from the Setia Spice Convention and Exhibition Centre, Bayan Baru, near here, with 77 per cent penetration rate in homes throughout the country.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said online live streaming was available for global audience along with Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered business to business (B2B) matching and networking as well as smart virtual booths.
"The three-day global tech festival for growth and market access will feature a live telecast from Penang with exclusive physical events and online streaming to a global audience with virtual exhibitions, AI powered B2B matching and networking as well as workshops and masterclasses," he told a press conference here today.
He said the COVID-19 pandemic had accelerated the digital transformation planned by the Penang state government and the improved situation today had motivated the state government to go ahead with the 24th WCIT2020 and Penang TechFest2020 with new dates and to be carried out in a new normal.
"We are expecting to attract online participations of up to 3,000 international visionaries, captains of industry, government leaders and academics from more than 80 countries," he added.
