Indonesia reports 2,098 new COVID-19 cases, 65 deaths

JAKARTA, Aug 13 -- Indonesia reported 2,098 new COVID-19 cases and 65 deaths from the disease over the past 24 hours up to noon Thursday, raising the total number of positive cases to 132,816 and the death toll to 5,968.

The country's official website on COVID-19 - www.covid19.go.id - also had information saying that 76,515 people were under monitoring.

The province of Jakarta recorded the highest number of positive cases at 27,761 followed by East Java, at 26,561, and the 32 other provinces the rest of the cases.

East Java recorded the highest number of deaths at 1,953, followed by Jakarta (970); Central Java (765); South Sulawesi (339) and the other provinces, the rest.
