Countering fake news related to COVID-19 on social media - 2030 hrs May 28 - KKMM
KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 (Bernama) -- The following is a further update from the Communications and Multimedia Ministry (KKMM) Quick Response Team on countering fake news related to COVID-19 on social media.
1. Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has denied that he is in Singapore for medical treatment. Instead, the Prime Minister explained that he is currently under COVID-19 quarantine at his residence in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.
Muhyiddin assured that he will continue to draw up strategies to combat COVID-19 and is confident that Malaysia will succeed in ending spread of COVID-19 if Malaysians work together to look after their communities.
2. International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (i-CATS) denies claims that one of its students is COVID-19 positive. i-CATS clarified that checks by its Registrar's Office found that the student meant in a social media post that went viral is not from i-CATS .
