KUALA LUMPUR, Apr 29 -- Kimberly-Clark has joined Malaysia’s COVID-19 relief efforts in response to the current health crisis by donating essentials worth RM1 million.

Kimberly-Clark managing director Raj Sundar says the donation of 20,000 packs of diapers, 5,000 packs of feminine hygiene products and 5,000 packs of tissues are meant for families affected by the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in Pusat Bandar Utara and Selayang.

The EMCO is expected to end on May 3.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has created a lasting impact on Malaysia’s health and economy, and families under EMCO face tremendous pressures.

“By distributing over a million diapers to families with children and providing a steady supply of feminine hygiene products and tissues for households, we hope to somewhat ease their burden,” Raj said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Federal Territories Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Dr Santhara Kumar expressed his gratitude to the company for the contribution.

“These are challenging times for all Malaysians, especially for those residing in EMCO areas. We are grateful to Kimberly-Clark for their timely childcare and feminine hygiene donations, which I’m certain will provide much-needed relief to affected families,” he said.

The Federal Territories Ministry will be coordinating the distribution of the donations in Pusat Bandar Utara, Taman Sri Murni, Taman Batu View and Taman Batu Hampar.

Kimberly-Clark’s portfolio of brands, including Huggies, Kleenex, Scott, Kotex, Cottonelle, Poise, Depend, Andrex, Pull-Ups, GoodNites, Intimus, Neve, Plenitud, Viva and WypAll, are sold in more than 175 countries.
