KUCHING, July 26 (Bernama) -- Perodua continues its support to public hospitals by donating medical diagnostic equipment to Sarawak General Hospital here, yesterday.
In a statement, Perodua said the initiative was to support the government's mission to improve the quality of the country's health services and at the same time thank the dedicated frontline workers.
Perodua donated seven Vital Sign Monitor units (diagnostic equipment to monitor body temperature, pulse and breathing rate as well as blood pressure) as well as hampers to patients and staff in the children's ward at the hospital.
The total donation worth RM84,450 was presented by Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad to the hospital's administrator and witnessed by the doctors and staff.
At the event, Zainal Abidin thanked the staff of Sarawak General Hospital for their service to the community and hoped that the donation would benefit the people of Kuching and Sarawak.
"As part of our corporate responsibility initiative, we are always looking for opportunities to provide the best assistance to enhance the country's health system. As such, we are constantly communicating with the Ministry of Health and related parties to continue our initiative.
"This is one of our ways of saying thank you to the government and the people of Malaysia, especially our customers who have given us their trust and support over the years," he said.
