KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 16 -- A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 on the Richter scale hit Mindanao, in the Philippines, at 6.37 am today.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department, the quake occurred about 18 kilometres northeast of Bislig, in the Philippines, at a depth of 36 kilometres.
However, it posed no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
