KUALA LUMPUR, May 22 -- With the Aidilfitri celebrations coming up this Sunday, Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR) has grabbed this chance to help 200 orphans and the poor in four selected organisations.
Its general manager Norashikin Shaharudin said the yearly Ramadan programme was aimed at helping the unfortunate celebrate the start of Syawal.
She said YBR had allocated RM20,000 to be distributed to Pusat Jagaan Kesayangan Ulul Albab, in Siliau, Negeri Sembilan; Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim dan Miskin Nur Iman in Kuantan,Pahang; Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ikhwan Bistari Perak, in Beruas, Perak; and Rumah Amal Raudhatul Jannah, Banting, Selangor.
"Each of them (orphans and the poor) will receive cash of RM100.00. This will not only help lighten their burden, but it will also foster ties between YBR and the community,” she said in a statement today.
Norashikin added that this year, the contributions are not given to the individuals but credited into the organisation’s bank account to be given to the recipient as part of the new normal practice and to observe social distancing.
The YBR also welcomed Muslims who want to contribute to these organisations through various online platforms.
