KOTA BHARU, April 3 (Bernama) -- Police have arrested a 28-year-old woman suspected of being involved in the murder of a man in Kuala Krai last week.

Kelantan Police Chief, Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said the man's body was found in front of a public restroom at Dataran Lemang Manek Urai, Kuala Krai, two days ago.

He said police received a report about a man lying unconscious in front of the restroom at 6.30 pm on Monday, and examination of the body of the 45-year-old man revealed three stab wounds in his abdomen.

In a statement here today, he said based on investigations, police believed the man was stabbed in the abdomen with a knife by the woman while they were engaged in sexual intercourse on March 28.

Muhamad Zaki said following the discovery of the body, police arrested the woman and seized a vegetable knife in the vicinity.

The man's body has been taken to Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital here for post-mortem, and doctors confirmed the cause of death was due to wounds in the abdomen caused by stabbing, he said.

He added that checks found the man was a suspect in a confinement case against a woman and was being investigated under Section 342 of the Penal Code, besides having criminal records related to drugs.
