MYIPO LAUNCHES IPR MARKETPLACE 2.0 PORTAL, EXPANDING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY MARKET
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 18 (Bernama) -- The Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) today launched the IPR Marketplace 2.0 portal, which provides access to intellectual property owners to expand their innovation markets.
Its chairman, Dr Mohd Zuhan Mohd said it is hoped that this platform will encourage collaboration between local entrepreneurs and potential parties in the global market.
"This is an important step to benefit local small and medium enterprises in creating more opportunities for the commercialisation of intellectual property to the international market," he said in a statement today.
He said Malaysia is one of the countries in Southeast Asia to introduce the IPR Marketplace portal in 2014 as a marketing platform to promote intellectual property assets for commercialisation purposes.
According to Mohd Zuhan, this portal has been improved to enable intellectual property owners to interact directly as well as collaborate with parties interested in carrying out licencing, franchising as well as buying and selling of a listed intellectual property.
"This portal also provides Intellectual Property Valuation or IP Valuation information to those who need an assessment of their intellectual property based on the current market," he said.
“This IP Valuation has been recognised through the IP Valuation Training Programme, organised by MyIPO in collaboration with the World Trade Institute to ensure holistic and quality intellectual property valuation.”
