SELANGOR BUSINESS SUMMIT AND AVIATION SHOW 2023 RECORD RM7 BLN IN POTENTIAL TRANSACTION VALUE

SHAH ALAM, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- The Selangor Aviation Show (SAS) 2023 and the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2023 recorded impressive achievements, with a combined RM7 billion in potential transaction value.

State executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han said the two events, organised by Invest Selangor, have built up a reputation for trade and investment facilitation and economic thought leadership among businesses, governments, and other key stakeholders within the Asean region.

He said SAS 2023, which was held from Sept 7-9 at SkyPark RAC Subang, successfully recorded a total of RM823 million in potential transaction value and saw a total crowd of 19,217, surpassing the 12,000 visitors target. "A record total of 109 exhibitors from 10 countries representing some of the world's best companies in the aerospace and aviation industries and 28 memorandums of understanding on various aerospace industry sub-sector collaboration were signed during SAS 2023," he told a media conference here today. 

Meanwhile, he said SIBS 2023 marked another significant milestone after recording the highest-ever potential negotiated sales of RM6.12 billion compared to SIBS 2022's RM1.45 billion.

Ng said the business summit, which took place on Oct 19–22, successfully assembled a total of 972 booths, taken up by 612 local and international exhibitors.

He said the four-day event also attracted a total of 57,249 visitors from 83 countries, ranging from business owners, importers, wholesalers, distributors, and retailers to hypermarket purchasing departments.

"SIBS 2023 also hosted a total of 380 trade buyers from 19 countries, 11 supermarket buyers, and two pharmacy buyers this time around," he added.

Ng said due to its success, SIBS will be returning in two separate events: July 25–27, 2024, and Oct 16–19, 2024. SAS 2024 is to be held from Sept 12 to 14, 2024.
