ERICSSON RANKED LEADER IN FROST RADAR 5G NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE MARKET 2023 REPORT FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 (Bernama) -- Swedish telecommunications giant Ericsson has retained its top ranking in the Frost Radar 5G Network Infrastructure Market 2023 report for the third consecutive year.

Maintaining top ranking in the Frost Radar report over the past years has shown Ericsson’s consistent ability to scale its innovations and growth in the field, according to the yearly report from business consulting firm Frost & Sullivan.

It also reaffirms Ericsson’s leadership in the 5G network infrastructure market, which spans radio access networks (RAN), transport networks and core networks, the company said in a statement today.

David Hagerbro, head of Ericsson Malaysia, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh, said that in Malaysia, this is the level of technology that Ericsson is embedding into the world class 5G network for Digital Nasional Bhd that ultimately benefits the nation and anyone that uses it.

Ericsson won the contract to develop Malaysia's 5G network and ecosystem, including end-to-end development of the network.

Hagerbro said that apart from retaining its top ranking, Ericsson has also gained important recognition for developing energy-efficient 5G RAN solutions that cater to customers’ needs.

According to the annual report from business consulting firm Frost & Sullivan, maintaining the top ranking in the Frost Radar report over the past years has shown Ericsson’s consistent ability to scale its innovations and growth in the field.

It also reaffirms Ericsson’s leadership in the 5G network infrastructure market, which spans RAN, transport networks and core networks.

This achievement is the result of Ericsson’s enhanced efforts to invest in technology leadership for the benefit of its customers, he said.

This is another indisputable industry accolade that complements its position as a leader in the 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant for 5G Network Infrastructure for Mobile Network Operators report.

“It is therefore no surprise that 50 per cent of the world's 5G traffic outside of China is carried over Ericsson radio networks and 80 per cent of the top-20 operators in the world are using our 5G core," said Hagerbro.

“And I am proud to say that across Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, I am able to work with the best local teams to implement the technology and expertise that Ericsson has to offer.”

Ericsson currently powers 145 live 5G networks in 63 countries, which is the highest level that Frost & Sullivan has seen publicly reported.
