BANK ISLAM, MESINKIRA TO ACCELERATE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION FOR MICRO ENTREPRENEURS
KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 (Bernama) -- Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd has partnered with MESINKIRA Sdn Bhd to adopt an end-to-end integrated mobile business management solution to support underbanked micro entrepreneurs in digitalising their business operations.
In a statement today, the bank said by using MESINKIRA's mobile app, micro entrepreneurs will be able to digitally record their sales, accept multimode payments, and keep track of their inventories and business expenses.
“Bank Islam will also leverage MESINKIRA’s Impact Dashboard solution to assess the microentrepreneurs’ performance better and analyse the microfinancing programme's effectiveness in creating upward mobility among the microentrepreneurs,” it said.
The bank said its microfinancing customers under the iTEKAD Programme would stand to benefit from the partnership.
Bank Islam group chief financial inclusion officer Mohd Nazri Chik said the partnership would provide growth opportunities for micro entrepreneurs and help them to become financially literate, in line with the bank’s commitment to creating social impact through entrepreneurship and the social finance ecosystem.
Meanwhile, MESINKIRA chief executive officer Syed Omar Syed Abu Bakar Almohdzar said the collaboration would create more inclusive ecosystems that meet the specific needs of its target market, in line with the government's initiative towards helping the underserved segment.
