IPOH, Jan 27 (Bernama) -- The Lost World of Tambun (LWOT) Theme Park is ready to welcome about 40,000 visitors to the Chinese New Year open house it is hosting at the Perak state-level on Sunday (Jan 29).
A Bernama survey found the last phase of preparation had reached the 80 per cent mark in terms of, among others, decorations, additional infrastructure, visitor facilities and parking arrangements, to ensure the security and comfort of the visitors are prioritised.
The LWOT staff were also busy making preparations in the main tent that will house about 1,000 people, while several dancers were also seen practising their moves.
Visitors will be entertained to, among others, the Perak Selendang Group’s performance, Chinese orchestra and dances, Spring’s Day Show and many more.
Sunway Lost World of Tambun general manager Nurul Nuzairi Mohd Azahari said the event is not just to celebrate the Chinese New Year as visitors will also be able to enjoy various activities, dances and performances.
“My hope is that with by holding this programme, it will cultivate a spirity of unity among the various races in Malaysia,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ipoh District Police chief ACP Yahaya Hassan said the public is advised to use alternative routes to the venue and to park their vehicles at Dataran Sunday, besides complying with the stipulated instructions.
It was reported on Jan 17 that the Perak government will host a large-scale Chinese New Year open house, with 40,000 guests expected to turn out at the theme park from 2 pm to 5 pm.
It will be graced by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Tambun Member of Parliament,, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and state exco members are also expected to attend the open house.
Guests can also enter the theme park to experience the activities offered at LWOT for free on that day.
