KOOP SAHABAT PARTNERS WITH KAB GOLD TO OFFER I-GPA DIGITAL GOLD INVESTMENT PLATFORM
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 27 (Bernama) -- Koperasi Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia Bhd (Koop Sahabat) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with KAB Goldynamics Sdn Bhd (KAB Gold) to introduce a shariah-compliant digital gold investment account called i-Gold Personal Account (i-GPA).
Koop Sahabat chairman Mohd Najib Mohd Noor said the collaboration with KAB Gold is a proactive step to provide more benefits to members of the cooperative and to encourage investments in gold.
“Through this strategic pact, KAB Gold will provide the digital platform and advisory services to Koop Sahabat to ensure clients are able to conveniently and safely invest in gold,” he told the media after the MOU signing ceremony here today.
The MOU was signed by Mohd Najib and KAB Gold chairman Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar.
Mohd Daud said KAB would help administer the i-GPA platform and also facilitate the opening of the digital gold accounts for Koop Sahabat members.
“When investors subscribe to i-GPA, we will register each investment digitally.
“The investors will have the amount of gold owned recorded in grammes, and they can keep or sell the gold as they see fit,” he said.
The i-GPA is open for more than 485,000 Koop Sahabat members, the majority comprising B40 women entrepreneurs, and they can open a digital gold investment account with investments as low as RM10.
