PIKOM NAMES ONG CHIN SEONG AS NEW CHAIRMAN
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- The National Tech Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) has appointed Ong Chin Seong as its new chairman for the 2022-2023 term, taking over from Dr Sean Seah, effective immediately.
In a statement, PIKOM said Ong’s appointment was made during its 36th annual general meeting held on Monday, which also saw the election of council members, comprising captains of the tech industry.
Ong said PIKOM's mission is to champion and actualise digital opportunities for all members, adding that he is looking forward to working alongside his fellow council members.
"I have three main expectations for the committee next year -- to passionately serve the industry, be willing to take up additional roles and responsibilities when needed, and serve with high integrity and good governance,” he said.
Moving forward, PIKOM said it has laid out plans to focus on the needs of its members through seven chapters, namely Global Business Services Malaysia, cybersecurity, Chief Information Officer (CIO), venture investment, e-commerce, women in tech and SpaceTech.
“With the continuation of innovations and developments in transformative technologies in 2023, PIKOM aims to be a key catalyst for both the public and private sector in supporting the national digital transformation agenda," it said.
