27 FRANCHISE COMPANIES COMPETING AT MALAYSIA FRANCHISE AWARDS 2022

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1 (Bernama) -- A total of 27 leading franchise companies are competing for 22 categories of awards at the presentation of the Malaysia Franchise Awards 2022 to be held at the Marriott Hotel, Putrajaya, on Dec 8.

Three new categories are introduced for this year, which is its 24th edition, namely the Best ESG Effort Franchise Ecosystem, Best Franchisor and Franchisee Micro & Affordable of the Year and Woman Franchise of the Year.

Senior Director of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA) senior director (Trade, Distribution and Business Sector) Datuk Rohaizi Bahari said 27 finalists for the awards had been evaluated by a panel.

The finalists were assessed in terms of growth and marketing achievements, as well as the competitiveness of the franchise business system from 2019 to 2021, he added.

 He said among the franchise brands listed as finalists for the 2022 Malaysia Franchise Award are 7-Eleven, Ayam Penyet Best, Cambridge English For Life, Gloria Jean's Coffee, McDonald's, Oldtown White Coffee, Senheng and Us Pizza.

"The competing brands have excellent quality and are qualified to receive this prestigious award," he said in his speech when announcing the names of the finalists for Malaysia Franchise Awards 2022 here today.

Also present was Malaysia Franchise Awards chairman Prof Dr Azmawani Abd Rahman.

The Malaysia Franchise Awards, the highest recognition platform for franchise operators in Malaysia, has received a total of 88 nominations for this year's programme.

Meanwhile, Azmawani said that the new category for the Woman Franchise of the Year award was introduced to encourage more women to venture into the franchise industry.
